After the postponement and eventual cancellation of D.A.N.C.E. art clubs participation in the Festival of Pacific Arts (due to covid-19), we were given the opportunity to pivot and create something else. We used this time to recreate and rebuild a website in the form of an online archive of everything we have done over the last 14 years. Our original website crashed in 2018 and it had always seemed like an enormous task to rescue it. Having a dedicated website wānanga complete with themed uniforms and meal plan was the only way to go about it. Our hoodies feature our project archive in the format of touring band merch and the sweatpants display WoDAC (women of D.A.N.C.E. art club) a newer iteration of our collective since Chris moved to Japan in 2012. Big mahalos to Ella Grace who was our amazing chef during this time and a big thank you Olaga Fou Orchards, with persimmon season in full force this land kept us fed and grounded while building in digital space. And finally thank you to Creative New Zealand for the ability to still generate something very meaningful to us after a rollercoaster few years!
