Pool Hall Competition

K’Rd Ball Room, Auckland

22 May 2011

Exploring our interest in non-conventional spaces to experience art, D.A.N.C.E art club hosted a Pool Hall Competition at K’Rd Ball Room in central Auckland. People were invited to take part in a legitimate yet fun competition, competing for hand made trophy prizes made from paper mâché and paint. Artist Janet Lilo, also a real life pool shark, was invited to facilitate the competition. H.E.P.T were invited to run a sausage sizzle for attendees. Other sculptural elements included a giant Number 8 ball and gold painted D.A.N.C.E. sign made from polystyrene.
